An accountant turned personal trainer turned professor turned women's wellness guide. Seems like I've been re-inventing myself forever, but now I see it was all part of Becoming Myself!
In 2017, at 54 years old, I finally said "ENOUGH!" I was burned out, and tired of trying to stuff my big, square-peg self into some organization's tiny round hole. I quit my job, moved in with my mom & hibernated for 6 months.
Then my annual physical woke me up: I was in bad shape, and I felt like crap, but I didn’t want to go on medication. So I asked my doc to give me a year, put on my big girl pants, and became my own wellness coach. I drew on everything I knew, from fitness to food to self-compassion, looked into the depth's of my soul, and began to heal.
During my one year journey, I gathered in the lost pieces and parts of myself and learned the true meaning of feeling whole. I also lost 60 pounds, turned my depression and anxiety into joy and mindfulness, and lowered my cholesterol over 100 points.
But I wasn’t done.
I am a lifelong learner, and a teacher, who isn’t happy unless she’s helping others, so in 2020 I started The Whole Wellness Project, LLC to create a community of women dedicated to healing the world, one well woman at a time. Our tribe of WISE (Whole-In-Soul-Empowered) women works together to embrace our 6 selves – physical and emotional, social and intellectual, spiritual and vocational.
I believe if we want to end the warring in our world, we must first stop the warring within.
