Silliness supported here! Recently responded to another writer who spoke of her own ridiculousness when alone, and that it's difficult to be vulnerable enough to display such things around others.

I said that, "... like many, when no one is watching I am singing ridiculous made up songs to my dog:

My doggy has a first name,

it's L - I -L -A,

My doggy has a second name,

It's Play, play, play, play, play,

Oh, I love to be with her every day,

and if you ask me why I'll say,

Cause Lila dog, she has a way,

of making everything OK!!"

But all kidding aside, I agree with your perceptions about always having to be funny - and how that can be reflective of different personality issues. I've seen it in several men but never in a woman...

Makes me want to do a little research!
